Rev it up! Bremont Stonor Supercar Sunday

Vroooom! Looking for a fun day out this July? Here are five reasons Bremont Stonor Supercar Sunday is a dead-cert (even for non-petrol heads).

It seems that these days every stately home worth its spark plugs takes the opportunity to host a wonderful summer gathering of sports and supercars – but even in this rarefied world, some events are, well, more super than others. Some are designed to be family friendly and none more so than the Bremont Stonor Supercar Sunday where you can easily ignore your petrol head partner and while away the hours most pleasantly (I know this, I went last year!). Here’s what you can expect for the family.

The Cars

I defy even the most car-averse not to cast a covetous eye over the 400 supercars and hypercars on site (including some Alfa Romeo 8Cs from the 1930s and a batch of very sexy American muscle cars – well, it is Independence Day after all). For the first time, there will be a special display given over to the (growing!) female contingent who also have a love for these gorgeous machines. So, you know, not just boys and their toys.

The Premium Lounge

*Ahem* Well, clearly it’s a luxury event so, of course, there’s going to be a Premium Loiungeto relax in. And it would be amiss of us to turn it down, right? So, yes, you will find us holding court while enjoying the show in comfort. Premium Ticket holders will also havePriority Parking (a must when you’re dressed to impress), tea and coffee on tap, a private cash bar to avoid those queues and a luxury picnic box, which leads me nicely onto the next point.

The Super-Chef Picnic

There’s a fantastic array of gourmet and artisan food stands Or if you are a Premium Ticket holder you could pick up a picnic designed by one of three UK leading chefs. Ooh, which to choose though? Local boy, Tom Kerridge, Jason Atherton or Rick Stein? ‘The Jason’ comes with a cheddar and leek quiche, hot smoked salmon potato salad, British cheese selection; ‘The Veggie Kerridge’ has a cheese, leek and truffle quiche, cheese and chutney, feta potato salad; ‘The Rick’: Panzanella with prosciutto and smoked mackerel pate. All boxes are finished with crudites with houmous, vegan brownies, a bottle of water, a 250ml bottle of wine and boasting rights that you’ve just fed your children a Michelin starred meal on a fabulous day out!

Stonor Grounds

Even if you have just a cursory look at the cars before retreating to your picnic blanket for the rest of the day, you will have won at the weekend. Stonor Park offers glorious views for you to lap up while you stuff your face with luxury nibbles and over 10 acres of running space for small people (although you might want to wrap them up in foam while looking at the cars and the jaw-droppingly expensive paintwork). Just. Don’t. Touch. ANYTHING.

Tumblestone Hollow

Now, this is a boon for younger families. Not sure your kids will last the day just lazing about in the July sunshine? You’re probably right – they won’t – which is why you need to get them down to Stonor’s incredible adventure playground Tumblestone Hollow  which is a magical, wooden creation full of walkways, rope bridges and climbing options to burn off that energy. (Seriously, it’s amazing, read our review for the full lowdown).

Fancy going? Course you do! Crank your carburettor, spin your wheels, a third metaphor that is frankly beyond my car knowledge, and go win yourself a Premium experience at the show, worth over £200.

Bremont Stonor Supercar Sunday is happening on 4 July 2021
