<p>Kicking off a summer of fun, <strong><a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="Ladies Day at Newbury Racecourse (opens in a new tab)" href="https://newburyracecourse.co.uk/raceday/al-shaqab-lockinge-day-2/" target="_blank">Ladies Day at Newbury Racecourse</a></strong> is the first out of the blocks, easing racegoers in nicely for the Epsom Derby (4 June) and Royal Ascot (14-18 June). Peacocks will also throw in Henley Regatta (28 Jun &#8211; 3 Jul) and the Henley Festival (6-10 Jul) into the mix, while hedonistic fun seekers will no doubt be heading to Glastonbury (22-26 Jun) or Wilderness (4-7 Aug), too. No need to dig out the family pearls and lace gloves to attend, Newbury Racecourse has a more progressive, modern vision for its Ladies Day – a celebration of women with a party atmosphere. </p>

No need to stress about hat sizes, strap width or hem length – just make sure you dress to impress, because the fashion squad will be out in force on the day handing out on-the-spot prizes to anyone with fabulous signature style. </p>

<p>Throwback to Ladies Days past and it all feels a bit buttoned up. This is a party kickass queens and we&#8217;re all invited – including our sporting greats. Before you get to the hear the thunder of hooves, check out the Panel of Pioneers, featuring England and Manchester United footballer Katie Zelem, Olympic Curling champion Eve Muirhead and record-breaking jockey Hollie Doyle who will be talking about their own personal journey into their sport. Aspiring broadcaster, Dani Jackson will also be commentating on the first race of the day. Despite the many female race goers, jockeys and trainers, that aren&#8217;t that many race commentators and Newbury Racecourse has launched an initiative to right that wrong. Go Dani.</p>

<p>Ain&#8217;t know party like an after party. After all the excitement of the action on the racecourse and giggles with your mates, don&#8217;t miss sax player Lovely Lola and Ben Santiago from 5.15pm. If you&#8217;re a White Isle regulars, you may have heard them play on the Ibizan club scene. They have provided the soundtrack to many sunsets.</p>

Well, it would be rude not to toast the Queen at her favourite racecourse on the year of her Platinum Jubilee. What&#8217;s in it? No idea, our mixology mole went to get the scoop and ended up so tipsy they can&#8217;t remember a thing. Raise a glass to Her Maj and have an epic weekend.</p>
