Gotta spell on you

Meet The Enchantress – the Newbury panto *ahem* Beauty who's a bigger diva than Mariah.

Cross dressing panto dame The Enchantress in Corn Exchnage Newbury's Christmas show Beauty and the Beast

Back to basics: tell Muddy a little bit about yourself?

Apart form the fact I am, obviously, an enchanting creature… I have an intense dislike for anyone or anything that doesn’t realise it.

First impressions of Newbury?

Beautiful and very friendly, plus incredible bargains to be found… I picked up a beautiful pair of Kurt Geiger boots for a very reasonable price – no flirting necessary. I think the staff realized they had a very special customer.

Darn it, we had our eye on them

Who’s your fashion inspiration?

Oh Muddy, I am the Inspiration… I am the fashion

Most memorable Xmas party?

Well, I would be hard pushed to name just one, as any party I attend becomes the best party, but I think Rudolph’s nose shining and stable warming is up there.

Beauty is… (finish the sentence)

Favourite Xmas movie and what part would you play?

Oooooh, that’s a huuuuge question! It’s A Wonderful Life is one I can just watch and watch. However, whilst not particularly a Christmas Film… Judy Garland singing Have Yourself A Very Merry Christmas in Meet Me In St Louis is a scene I always picture myself doing – that gorgeous red gown, sitting in the window.

Prince Charming or Beast? (and spill on who fits the bill?)

Well, that really depends on your mood. They both have their plus and minus points. The Prince, whilst charming has way too much arrogance for my liking and hogs the mirror, whereas The Beast, whilst knowing how to treat a Lady, could improve on his personal grooming and bad moods.

Where will you be spending Xmas?

In glorious Newbury. I’ve invited my servants, Fang and Gnasher plus The Beast for a little Soiree. Maybe I’ll turn them into their other selves as a present, but only for the evening.

What gets you rocking around the Xmas tree?

Good food, good company, maybe a little tipple – somewhere with people I’m comfortable dancing and having me listen to me talking.

All I want for Christmas…

Well, I think we know each other quite well now Muddy, so I’m going to open up. All I want is to be loved. Oh and to drive some much needed sense into some of these so called World Leaders. Don’t they realise what a beautiful place this planet is and the beauty in it’s different peoples, creatures, fauna and environments have to offer.

Who’ll be stuffing your turkey?

Assuming no double entendre, no one. I like it on the side. (Double Entendre!)

What’s your Xmas message?

The same as the whole year: Love is everything.

Beauty & The Beast is on at the Corn Exchange Newbury until Sun 7 Jan
