<p>If you’re a fan of this BAFTA and Emmy-award winning series, you’ll know what this is all about. If you’re completely blindsided, it’s the second half of a special two part add-on from the first series that followed a group of high school kids and their experiences of sex, drugs, trauma, love and identity. Zendaya is the main character (Rue) and her story was Part 1. Now it’s the turn of Jules (Hunter Schafer). Brilliantly acted coming-of-age stuff.</p>

<p>Dickens’ classic&nbsp;<em>Oliver Twist</em>&nbsp;has been brought bang up to date in this Sky Original where in modern-day London, a bunch of streetwise young hustlers come together to pull off the ultimate heist. No money has been spared on the casting either: Sir Michael Caine plays Fagin, Lena Heady is Sikes, and Rita Ora is the Artful Dodger character, creatively called… um, Dodge, and Raff Law (he of Jude &amp; Sadie parentage) is playing (Oliver) Twist. Sounds like fun.</p>

<p>Remember when Justin Timberlake had to make that public apology to Jessica Biel for holding his co-star’s hand? Well, the co-star is Alisha Wainwright and it was this film they were working on together. In this feature length drama, Justin plays a ex-con former college football star who, having been released from prison, befriends a troubled boy and then begins a romance with his mother (Wainwright). But will his past catch up with them all? Whaddya think?</p>

<p>If&nbsp;<em>Bridgerton</em>&nbsp;has renewed your taste for&nbsp;<a href="https://muddystilettos.co.uk/arts-culture/film-tv/bridgerton-rege-jean-page-period-drama-hotties/">literal bodice-rippers</a>, then you could do far worse than catch up on&nbsp;<em>Outlander</em>&nbsp;in preparation for the much-awaited release of season 4 on Netflix this week. The basic synopsis is that a nurse from 1945 is magically transported back to late 1700s Scotland, where she falls in love with a passionate, honourable, and unbelievably ripped Highland warrior. Ridiculous? Yes. Addictive? Also, yes.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Penguin Bloom (Netflix) – Wed 27 Jan</h2>

<p>Naomi Watts and Andrew Lincoln head up this full length drama that is based on a true story (and a 2016&nbsp; book by Cameron Bloom) where an injured magpie chick helps bring a shattered family back together. I predict weeping. Particularly if the gin’s made an appearance.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Dig (Netflix) – Fri 29 Jan</h2>

<p>Granted, a drama based on the 1939 uncovering of the Sutton Hoo burial site isn’t the most obvious of topics but the script was obviously thrilling enough to bring Ralph Fiennes, Carey Mulligan, Lily James and Johnny Flynn on board. It has had excellent early reviews and loads of coverage in the broadsheets so probably worth two hours of your evening.</p>

<p>This 2019 film written and directed by Stephen Merchant got great reviews and is now on your tellybox courtesy of Amazon Prime. Florence Pugh (who you’ll know from Greta Gerwig’s&nbsp;<em>Little Women</em>) plays British wrestling hopeful Paige as she makes her way up the WWE ladder. Not convinced? Well, The Rock is in it. And what he doesn’t know about wrestling isn’t worth knowing.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Missing Mary Berry? Well, don’t pine any longer as she’s back on primetime Beeb. Here, judging from a socially distanced balcony, Mazza Bezza (with the help of Angela Hartnett and Chris Bavin) attempt to sort celebrity wheat from the chaff, in terms of their cooking ability only. The aproned celebs include Gareth Thomas, Ed Balls, Shobna Gulati and Rachel Johnson.</p>

<p>Grayson and Philippa Perry are back, encouraging the nation to summon their inner artists during a period that – let’s be honest – might be considered as the most tedious we have ever collectively known. But the Perrys are here to ensure that 320 days of TV suppers with the same people should not dull our creative expression. They’re asking us all to submit some art and said content will provide food for thought over the next series. So go and acquire (read: steal from your teenage children) some watercolours and get daubing.</p>
