Is that who I think it is…?! Our favourite music video cameos

Enough bad news! We can't get enough of Harry Styles and Phoebe Waller-Bridge. So here's five favourite other times a celebrity appeared in a music video...

Look, we get it. The news is bleak at the minute. You know that by now. So here’s a suggestion: stop doomscrolling. Yes — you! Resist! We all need something fun for a change. How about… Harry Styles dancing around in a sparkly suit jacket? Throw in a bit of queen-of-our-hearts Phoebe Waller-Bridge? Now we’re talking.

If you haven’t seen it, Haz Staz’s latest music video “Treat People With Kindness” sees the popstar dancing his troubles away in a glitzy whirl of black-and-white jazz hands and fast feet. Just as you’re thinking it can’t get any better, Phoebe Waller-Bridge enters, martini in hand, and is soon swept up onto the stage to dance alongside. But hang on a minute — did anyone even know that Harry Styles and Phoebe Waller-Bridge knew each other? We didn’t! Part of the charm of this celebrity cameo is that it seemingly came out of nowhere, and got us all hitting the repeat button on, er, repeat.

But if you get bored of this one (it could happen!), we’ve put together a list of our favourite previous music videos that feature an unexpected celebrity. Roll the highlights!

Zooey Deschanel being mistaken for Katy Perry by aliens in “Not the End of the World”

(Yes, really.)

Tom Hanks in Carly Rae Jepson’s “I Really Like You”

Tom Hanks!

Kris Jenner as the mum from Mean Girls in Ariana Grande’s “Thank U, Next”

Other celebrities a fun bonus. Kris isn’t a regular mom, she’s a cool mom!

Ian Mckellen stealing George Ezra’s spotlight in “Listen to the Man”

Beyond charming.

The Queer Eye cast (and about a thousand others) in Taylor Swift’s “You Need to Calm Down”

This one’s a whole rainbow fever dream of big names. And a bop to boot.

Whew! What a list. This has to be our favourite type of fun music video. But did we miss any of your favourites? Anyone willing to place bets on the next big combo?
