Wouldn't you though?

It's all abut the statement sleeve for SS17 and this lace beauty from Hungerford-based White Coco is hitting this totally wearable trend and dramatically reducing the chance of twinning . Winner!

Vogue 100: A Century of Style exhibition, National Portrait Gallery, London, 11 Feb – 22 May

Wow. I’m probably not what you’d call a dedicated follower of fashion (my friends are doubled-up at this point) but I am fizzing with excitement about this exhibition. I heard about it on the radio driving home the other day and I couldn’t wait to tell you about it. Having been at the forefront of fashion, beauty and portrait photography since its launch in 1916, British Vogue has an enviable and unrivalled archive of outstanding imagery.

Get the family outdoors with Treasure Trails

15 Feb 2016

I discovered this brilliant little company called Treasure Trails a few month back when Hero wrote about them on Muddy Oxon/Bucks. I thought it was worth bashing out a quick post about it now because it’s the sort of thing that screams ‘half-term saviour’ and gives you a fun excuse to get kids or rellies out of the house and out into the fresh air for an hour or two.

It’s not too late to *wow* your Valentine!

11 Feb 2016

Three days to go until Valentine’s Day and if you’re reading this, then you’ve definitely taken my usual stance – a wild-eyed panic before the big moment with nothing to show for our 10 years together (Mr P, how have you done it? Your medal ceremony awaits) except an apologetic hug.

So here we go, ideas to please the ladeeeeez. Buy for your wife, mum, sister or if you’re reading this and think your other half might not pull through with anything half decent, your lovely self.

Follow your heart trail, Basildon Park, Lower Basildon, Reading, now until 27 Feb

‘It is a truth universally acknowledged that a zombie in possession of brains must be in want of more brains’. You may spot Basildon Park in cinemas this half term as Pride and Prejudice and Zombies gets released on 11 Feb by Lionsgate UK. The house and parkland features in the film, as do many terrifying zombies… Look out for the house at the beginning of the official trailer (careful, it’s not for the faint hearted).

Check out Hope Fashion

7 Feb 2016

It’s so tough launching a fashion label these days, but Hope, which launched in Autumn last year (funny to think of 2015 in the past now), is doing very nicely thanks very much. The company has played it smart, with an online shop, but also via individual ‘stylists’ – think of the Stella & Dot style of selling. It doesn’t harm that the founder Nayna McIntosh was in charge of Per Una at M&S for years too, so she knows what she’s doing.

A fab new eaterie on the river

7 Feb 2016

I took a quick zip over the border a few weeks ago to have lunch with Hero (Queen Muddy) in Bourne End. We were trying out a very cool little place called Riverlight – slick interiors and a riverside setting to boot. We both loved it. Here’s Hero’s review in full but I’m in there somewhere. See if you can spot me. Clue. I’m the one eating.

Riverlight in Bourne End is a restaurant I’ve been trying to make it into for quite some time.

Family mountain bike trail, Bracknell

5 Feb 2016

Well hellooo there bum cheeks! You’re making yourselves known after our mountain bike trail in Swinley Forest. Someone get me a bag of frozen peas! As you can probably guess, I am most definitely *not* a natural mountain biker. In fact, the last time I rode a bike, I think it was a Chopper (and I don’t mean in a retro way, I mean in 1978).

So it was with more than a little trepidation that I rocked up to Swinley Bike Hub in Swinley Forest, Bracknell with the Muddy Family in tow.

Gorgeous gallery in Wargrave

1 Feb 2016

Ah, Wargrave – you are really spoiling us! What with the fantastic Old Post Office for a sublime sarnie or slab of cake, and just down the road the brilliant Robin’s Nest Gallery celebrating it’s first anniversary of fabulousness – tag onto those two a walk around the beautiful Crazies Hill and you can easily spend a blissful morning snuggling into Wargrave’s warm and welcoming bosom!

The Robin’s Nest Gallery is the brainchild of Jo Sinclair, a jewellery maker, needlefelter and illustrator who has lived in the village for 37 years.
