Being a highly fragrant bunch here at Muddy HQ, we’re obsessed with scented candles – and we think they make a brilliant Mother’s Day gift for this Sunday (you had remembered, right?) Here’s our edit of the Muddy favourites.
(Top, left) Loving by Bella Freud (£40) This tuberose, amber and sandalwood number has serious mantelpiece appeal thanks to its trademark Bella Freud slogan red glass jar. And Loving is very mum-appropriate, isn’t it?
How’s your skin holding up? Mine definitely needs industrial help. It’s feels like sand paper after months of freezing temperatures, the central heating on full blast coupled with my rather lazy beauty routine. Basic is an understatement. Yes I need to drink more water, moisturise twice a day and get more sleep (tell me something I don’t know *yawn*). But a facial that has a ton of science behind it might just perk my skin up – and knock a couple of years off in the process.
Brits have a shocking reputation for bad teeth. I’m not sure it’s entirely justified. I mean how often do you see a set of gnashers that look like you’ve been eating an apple through a tennis racket. OK, so we’re not talking about Shane McGowan extreme, but probably all have a gander at our teeth and think there’s room for improvement.
If you’re anything like me, your teeth take a bit of a battering.
Stylish new candle brand SevenSeventeen gets its name from that heavenly time when the kids are bundled into bed, the wine is poured, you light up and relax. Perfection… and so are the fragrances
This little beauty, Vanderohe No. 1 Nourishing Face Serum (£88), is absolutely brand spanking new – you’re literally the first to know about this indie beauty brand that launches on 1 Feb…
Check out the rebrand! Boring ol’ Vaseline has been given a Lulu Guinness ‘Dollface’ makeover. Pretty and practical during the winter months. Love it!
A cosy wrap, a cool messenger bag for kids and funky ceramics made out of bricks! I’ve pulled my 5 favourite gift ideas from the exhibitors who’ll be at the Windsor Christmas Gift Fair from Thurs 17 to Sun 20 November at Royal Windsor Racecourse.
The Gift Fair is quite simply the answer to all your Christmas gift questions, with over 160 exhibitors selling a range of gifts from the fabulous to the quirky – you’ll find something to satisfy even the most difficult person to buy for on your list.
Ok, so everybody needs things like water, money for the bar and your ticket, obvs. Oh, and maybe wet wipes. But here are the other 15 things that should be on ever festival goer’s packing list.
1. Coastal Wool Picnic Rug, John Lewis, £55
2. Aviators, Ray-Bans, Sunglasses Hut, £143
3. The Paradiso Beach Towel, You Me and the Dream, £75
4. SPF 30 Face Moisturizer, Malin + Goetz, Space NK, £28
Three days to go until Valentine’s Day and if you’re reading this, then you’ve definitely taken my usual stance – a wild-eyed panic before the big moment with nothing to show for our 10 years together (Mr P, how have you done it? Your medal ceremony awaits) except an apologetic hug.
So here we go, ideas to please the ladeeeeez. Buy for your wife, mum, sister or if you’re reading this and think your other half might not pull through with anything half decent, your lovely self.
