Pass the tissues! *sob*
Well you gorgeous lot, I’ve had a brilliant year launching and editing Muddy Stilettos Berkshire, but for family reasons it’s time for me to hang up my stilettos (Muddy or otherwise) and leave you in the very capable hands of someone new.
I’m passing the baton to a fantastic editor, who will officially take control of the keyboard in January (well, I had to see the New Year in with you lot didn’t I?). So it’s time to say a big Muddy hello to… Rachel!
Here we are doing a selfie by the Muddy Berkshire Christmas tree (and by the time we’d done our lippy, bouffed our hair and decided on a location for the pic, it was almost time for her to go home!).
In the words of Stevie Wonder, ‘Isn’t she lovely?’. I know you’ll give her a warm welcome and continue to support the blog as you have done for me, and we head into the New Year knowing that Muddy Stilettos has been nominated for the UK Blog Awards 2017!
Muddy Stilettos first tottered into the world in summer 2011 as a bit of fun for the founder, Hero Brown. The idea was a simple one: to write a witty but indispensable local guide to the very best restaurants, walks, boutiques, day trips, hotels, interiors and events (whilst also perking up her social life!).
How could we have known, after a brilliant first year of celebrating all things Berkshire that the Muddy Stilettos brand would be in contention for such a prestigious award?
We constantly try to innovate on Muddy, which is why we have just started a Jobs site for our readers on Bucks/Oxon that will roll out to all the other regions in late 2017. In January, we’re launching a further six Muddy Stilettos county blogs, and all 17 blogs will be linked by a groundbreaking app by the end of the year if we don’t collapse in a heap first. (*thud*)
We’re really glad that you’ve been on the journey with us so far, and there’s so much to see and do in Berks. With your help we can head into 2017 as WINNERS! Whoop! Whoop!
We’d be delighted if you’d vote for us – you can do that HERE – what a cracking start to Rachel’s editorship it would be if we won!
A very merry Christmas to you and yours, and here’s to a fabulously Muddy 2017!
